DISTORTA Launch New Music Video: “When the War Is Over”
Australian groove-death metal unit DISTORTA have officially released the bold new video for their track “When the War Is Over.” This high-energy single comes from their forthcoming EP Deadman, due out on September 5, 2025 via Wormholedeath.

The video serves up a raw mix of live performance footage and candid behind-the-scenes moments featuring band members Dmitry “Dimmy” Keremetskiy and Chris Hanrahan. Viewers are treated to headbanging intensity on stage, alongside lighter moments of the duo dancing and goofing off—a blend of humor and ferocity that underlines the band’s gritty but approachable character.
Musical Intensity with Emotional Weight
“Written with rare, almost effortless intensity,” as the band puts it, “When the War Is Over” builds tension through melodic guitar layers before releasing into a powerful chorus. The hypnotic chant—“When. The. War. Is. O-ver.”—anchors the song in themes of resilience, identity, and inner conviction. Jim Bogers wrote the spine of the chorus while Dimmy completed the emotional narrative.
A DIY Spirit and Fresh Lineup
Recorded entirely in their Ballarat home studio, Deadman captures DISTORTA’s fierce expression of independence and creative control. The upcoming EP also introduces new guitarist Liam Frost‑Camilleri, a driving force in Victoria’s metal community and organizer of the Beyond Black festival focused on mental health. Frost‑Camilleri, formerly of Fall and Resist and Yeah Sick, steps in for Dom Davey, enhancing the band’s aggression with his heavy guitar work and vocals.
