Müntrails Release Haunting Lyric Video for “Heretic Eyes”

Spanish post-rock band Müntrails have released a gripping new lyric video for “Heretic Eyes,” a standout track from their 2025 full-length album The Cenobite Tapes, out now on Wormholedeath Records. Known for their brooding style and cinematic soundscapes, the group continues to blur the lines between dark rock, post-punk, and atmospheric ambient textures.

A Dreamlike Descent into Shadows

“Heretic Eyes” unfolds with a slow-burning intensity, pairing haunting melodies with a distinct new wave pulse. Lyrically, the song evokes mist-filled memories and emotional weight, offering listeners a journey through blurred timelines and unspoken truths. The track’s hypnotic pacing and layered instrumentation create an immersive, almost trance-like experience that feels both introspective and otherworldly.

The video adds a visual layer to the song’s atmosphere, pulling viewers deeper into its emotional undercurrent. With subtle effects and evocative typography, the lyric video mirrors the song’s dreamlike descent into memory and isolation.

The Band Behind the Sound

Formed in Spain in 2022, Müntrails consists of Dibasson (vocals), Beszel (guitars, programming, backing vocals), Zennon (keyboards), BasLag (bass), and Shevek (drums). The band’s sound has been described as “darklight music from distant planet Earth,” combining raw emotion with subtle sonic layering. Their previous EPs, released in 2024, helped shape the foundation for The Cenobite Tapes and caught the attention of Wormholedeath Records.

While the album isn’t strictly conceptual, each track plays a part in a larger narrative arc. The Cenobite Tapes balances minimalist arrangements with lush atmospheres, resulting in an emotionally rich listening experience that shifts between moments of restraint and bursts of intensity.

Critical Praise and Emerging Voice

Though still relatively new on the scene, Müntrails have been quietly building a following among post-rock and darkwave fans across Europe. Independent review site Dark Music Web called “Heretic Eyes” “a slow-motion collapse you don’t want to escape from,” praising its restraint and eerie emotional pull.

Fans of Slowdive, Alcest, and early Radiohead will find plenty to love here, especially in the way Müntrails combines texture, introspection, and melancholy without ever drifting into self-indulgence.

Connect with Müntrails

The Cenobite Tapes is available now. If “Heretic Eyes” is any indication, Müntrails is a name to watch for anyone drawn to emotionally complex, atmospheric rock that lingers long after the final note.
