Willfire Release Lyric Video For “Inside Job”

Finnish heavy metal trio Willfire have dropped a new lyric video for their song “Inside Job”, taken from the DIY album Homebrewed Recordings, now reissued through Wormholedeath. It is one of those tracks that grows heavier the more closely you listen to the words.

Slow‑burning betrayal

“Inside Job” doesn’t rush. Instead it grinds forward on a brooding main riff, giving vocalist and bassist Niko Hellsten space to spit lines about trust, power and the kind of betrayals that leave permanent scars. The song’s structure feels almost old‑school, built on a sturdy verse‑chorus spine, but the way the band twist the harmonies keeps it from slipping into comfortable nostalgia.

Roots in classic metal – with a rough edge

Willfire have been around in one form or another since 1998, and you can hear that lived‑in chemistry between Hellsten, guitarist Tero Virolainen and drummer Marko Kuparinen. Their sound folds together 80s heavy metal, hard rock and a touch of blues, but there’s a distinctly Finnish melancholy running through the melodies. Metal Shock Finland described “Inside Job” as a “slow‑burning gut punch wrapped in crushing riffs and lyrical fallout”, which feels exactly right.

DIY spirit, future plans

Homebrewed Recordings started life as a fully self‑made release before Wormholedeath stepped in to give it a wider push. That DIY origin still shows in the slightly raw edges of the production, but it suits the material – these songs sound like they were meant to be played loud in small, sweaty rooms rather than polished into stadium rock. With more unreleased material reportedly in the vault, “Inside Job” functions as both a statement of intent and a warning shot.
